I've been unicycling since I was about 10 years old. Unicycling has become such a large part of my life that most of my friends and classmates refer to me as "The unicycle kid," to the point where anyone from my area recognizes me by that name. I got my first coker about 4 or 5 years ago and have been enjoying distance riding ever since.

After learning to ride a unicycle (and breaking it) from good friend Jason Allemann at the University of Waterloo, I've been an avid rider since. For the past 10 years, I've lived in Detroit and have gotten quite involved with Redford Township Unicycle Club (RTUC) as well as Semcycle Unicycle Basketball team and various offshoots of unicycling. It is great that I now have a big enough garage to house all my unicycles!

I got into unicycling when I was in high school and ever since than it has been one of my most favorite hobbies and the fact it has taken me across the United States and Europe is the coolest thing. I love to ride long distance on both my unicycle and my road bike, I'm very much looking toward riding in the race. I'm also loonking toward meeting the many riders from across the world.

I learned to ride in 1996 at age 45 and was pleasantly surprised to learn that I am not alone: there are lots of folks in this age group learning to ride. What a world we live in!
I am making slow but steady progress gaining unicycling skill. At this time it appears my favorite activities are distance riding and hockey. I may get into basketball later, once my riding gets more solid and instinctive.
