Jason planned our ride through Kensington, Island lake, and the South Lyon rails to trails. Jason, Marcus and I started with a lap around Kensington metro park, with a side trip for Marcus to look at a house for sale. We stopped at a party store to buy trail mix after the hills at Island Lake whipped us good. I had hammergel and clif shot keeping me going, but the other two couldn't handle those, and it felt much better to get some real food in our bodies anyway. We stopped and ate at Chili's before setting out for the extremely flat rails to trails course, where we picked up the remaining miles.

I was in charge of planning this ride, and as such I called my uncle who does long distance biking. His medium-distance (long distance for us unicyclists) happened to start fairly near my house, so that was our starting point. We rode down Outer Drive several miles to Farmington, and down Farmington to Grosse Isle. The shape of the island of Grosse Isle made it impossible to get a tail wind. We were glad to get off the island, and backtracked all the way back to my house. about midway back, Marcus managed to get himself yelled at by the police as he rode past them making a traffic stop.
